According to media reports, the Centre allocates funds to all states every year for electricity and water bills, road infrastructure and development. This year Tamil Nadu did not receive the allotted fund, as there was a delay in local body election and there is no elected council. Reportedly, Rs 4000 crore was missed by TN for not conducting the election on time.
