TASMAC: TN GOVT BRINGS COLOUR TOKEN SYSTEM FOR BUYING LIQUOR! DETAILS
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduAs the Supreme Court ordered for the Tasmac shops to open in Tamil Nadu, the state has come up with a token system, along with certain rules that the buyers need to follow. However, Tasmac shops in Chennai and Thiruvallur, along with those located in containment zones will remain shut.
In the other parts, these shops will function from 10 am to 5 pm.
Within a few hours from the hearing, the Tamil Nadu state government had announced a token system for purchasing alcohol. Tokens are of 7 different colours, orange, green, red, blue, and so on. Each colour is for each day of the week. Every Tasmac outlet is equipped and ready with these tokens. However, only 500 tokens per day, are allowed to be distributed. Each token has details of the shop’s designated number, time for purchase and the day.
From the 501st person, the next day’s token will be issued. Hence buyers can only purchase at the time written on the token, and on the respective day of the week.
Buyers must be wearing masks and will have to follow social distancing in order to procure alcohol.
