Tamil Nadu CM's breaking statement on sand quarries

Reportedly, the Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami has announced that from Thursday tenders will be requested for sand quarries and imported sand from overseas shall also be sold under the name of the government. Speaking at the budget discussions in the TN state assembly, Congress leader Ramasamy allegedly said that closing sand quarries will only increase scarcity and prices. According to reports, the CM also clarified that private bodies are not to sell sand and also informed that online sand sales have been blocked.
