MINISTER KADAMBUR RAJU MAKES BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ON TICKET RATES FOR SPECIAL SHOWS OF MEGA RELEASES!
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduThe government of Tamil Nadu is considering fixing ticket rates for special shows of mega releases which release during festivals, reports say.
"Theatre owners requested the government to fix the rates for special shows to eliminate the possibility of tickets being sold exorbitantly. Revenue to the government will also go up," the state Minister for Information and Broadcasting Kadambur Raju was quoted as saying by TNM.
This comes after producers flagged online platforms charging internet/convenience for every ticket sale. The government might also consider building infrastructure to facilitate online ticket sales, the minister said.
In 2017, the government fixed the base price of tickets at multiplexes with more than three screens at Rs 150. Multiplexes with less than three screens were allowed to charge anywhere between Rs 106.30 and Rs 118.80.
