THOOTHUKUDI PROTEST: EPS HOLDS EMERGENCY MEETING

Following the massive protest that has been sparking controversy, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has conducted an emergency meeting with DGP and other higher police officials.
The protest against the expansion of Vedanta Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi on Tuesday has gigantically grown on Tuesday with protesters attempting to lay siege to the district collectorate and pelting stones at police officials.
However, police launched a lathi-charge on the protesters when they attempted the siege. Enraged protesters started pelting stones at the police personnel and police vehicles.
