Athipattu Pudunagar village located in suburbs of north Chennai, which is home to almost 3,000 families, is reportedly being deserted due to excess of stagnant water. Reportedly due to non-motorable roads and stagnant water that breeds mosquitoes, the locality has already become uninhabitable. According to reports, locals blame the surrounding industrial establishments for this and believe their village will be the first to face disaster when monsoon begins.
