Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Friday clarified on the controversy surrounding his speech in Perambur. While some reports said that the VCK chief claimed to destroy the Hindu temples, he has clarified that he never used the term, “Will destroy Hindu temples.” Thirumavalavan reportedly said: “Sangh Parivar organisations say Babri Masjid was built on Ram Temple. If that is so, most of the Siva temples and Perumal temples were built after destroying the Buddhist vihars and Jain temples. So, for the sake of argument, I said let’s build Buddhist vihars in place of Siva and Perumal temples.”
