Theft accused dies in custody; family allege custodial torture

A 20-year-old man, who was in Tirupur police’s custody reportedly passes away on Sunday. According to reports, he was arrested in connection with a bike theft. His family alleged that he died after police tortured him while he was in custody. However, police have declined the allegation saying that it was baseless.
