TEENAGER CHASES, THRASHES ROBBER; HANDS HIM OVER TO POLICE

A 17-year-old teenager single-handedly chased a robber, who snatched a gold chain from a doctor at a clinic in Anna Nagar, thrashed him and handed him over to police, says a PT report. Surya was in his brother’s shop nearby when he heard the woman doctor screaming for help. He saw the man trying to escape after jumping over the wall. Without any hesitation, Surya started chasing down the robber and nabbed him after running a distance of 1 km. He thrashed the thief when he tried to attack him. Later police were informed and they took the robber into custody. The gold chain of 10 sovereigns was recovered and the boy received accolades.
