College students from Tanjore, Thiruvannamalai, Tirupur have been protesting in bus stands against the recent hike in bus ticket fare. The students are reportedly voicing against the alleged proposal by the government to increase the fare for bus pass. Following a strike by transport employees, the government has drastically increased the ticket rate for government buses.
