EVER IMAGINED MONKEYS COULD STEAL YOUR LIFE SAVINGS? THIS TAMILNADU WOMAN'S ACCOUNT OF THE THEFT WILL LEAVE YOU SHOCKED!
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduA troop of monkeys entered the hut of a 70-year- old woman in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvaiyaru and escaped with eatables, cash as well as gold jewellery which was a part of her life savings
G Sarathambal, a widow, lives alone at her house. During the time the monkeys sneaked in, she was doing household chores. The monkeys ran out of the house with bananas and a bag of rice. However, the woman had kept all her savings in that bag of rice.
She tried to run after the monkeys who headed to one of the roof tops to eat the bananas. Many locals too tried to lure the monkey and get the bag from them but all of those efforts did not come to fruition. The monkeys however managed to escape with the bag that contained all the jewellery she owned along with a cash amount of Rs 25,000.
The money and jewellery was saved by the elderly woman for emergency purposes. The villagers have now demanded that monkeys should not be allowed to enter the village premises since this is not the first time this has happened.
“In May this year, a video of a monkey trying to kidnap a child went viral on the internet. The clip shows three kids sitting on a bench and the monkey approaching towards them on a full-speed miniature bike. As soon as, the baboon reaches near the bench, it leaves the bike and pulls a toddler from the bench,” CNN News 18 cited in its report.
