BREAKING : TAMIL NADU GOVT EXTENDS LOCKDOWN; 'RELAXATION' IN 25 DISTRICTS!
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduThe Tamil Nadu government on Sunday decided to extend lockdown till May 31 as the state crossed more than 10,000 coronavirus cases with 74 deaths so far. This big announcement comes hours after Maharashtra, extended its lockdown to the month-end.
This extension of lockdown comes with easing of restrictions like;
- people can travel between 25 districts in the state.
- No public transport will function but taxi and cabs will operate in 25 districts
- there is also no relaxation in 12 districts which include Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram.
- People can travel without e-pass
Schools, colleges, places of worship, cinema theatres and bars will remain shut during this period. Among other things, travel for essential services will be allowed without e-passes.
According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 477 new coronavirus cases were reported yesterday in Tamil Nadu. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu to 10,585.
Among the total people infected 3,538 have recovered and 74 have passed away.
