COVID-19 IN TAMIL NADU TODAY: CHECK POSITIVE CASES, DEATHS AND RECOVERIES AS ON AUGUST 21   

Tamil Nadu on Friday, August 21, reported 5,995 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,67,430.  

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of August 21:

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) -   53,413.  

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date –  2,21,753 / 1,45,648 / 29.  

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –139 (63 Govt + 76 Private) 

- Total Number of samples tested by RT-PCR till date  –     40,62,943.  

- Total number of samples tested today –  74,344.     

- Total number of persons tested by RT-PCR till date – 39,23,834.  

- Total number of persons tested today –   72,423.  

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 3,07,677.  

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 5,764.  

- Total number of deaths today / till date - 101 (36 Private & 65 Govt) / total 6,340.
