TAMIL NADU: TWO NORTH INDIANS THRASHED ON SUSPICION OF BEING CHILD ABDUCTORS

People thrashed two north Indian men and a mentally-challenged woman as they suspected that the three could be child-abductors in two various incidents in Salem. In Ariya Goundampatty, people attacked a woman, who was wandering in the area, following rumours that she tried to abduct children. However, during police investigation, it was revealed that the woman was mentally-challenged.
In another incident in Thiru Goundanur bypass road, two north Indian men were attacked by locals who suspected them of being child-abductors. They surrounded the two men while they were drinking liquor at a TASMAC outlet and attacked them. Police received information and rushed to the spot.
Police rescued the two men and sent them for treatment at a private hospital. During the probe, it was revealed that one of them is a lorry driver named Ashok Kumar from Rajasthan, while another is identified as Jiyad Khan.
