TAMIL NADU: TICKET EXAMINER ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING 6-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN TRAIN

A ticket examiner was arrested after he sexually harassed a 6-year-old girl sleeping in her coach in the train, say reports. The examiner Anish Kumar was on duty on the Cheran Express train from Coimbatore to Chennai. It is alleged that Kumar started abusing the girl when the train was at Katpadi.

Jolarpettai police arrested the man based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents. Police have reportedly begun an investigation into the matter.

The harassment against women and children are reported in large numbers in the recent past. The World Bank estimates, about 20 million women vanished from India’s workforce fearing their own and their children's safety in the eight years from 2004, say reports.
