Police have arrested a teacher named Vijaya in Kulikarai area of Thiruvarur for making a fellow classmate do the haircut for a student as a punishment, say reports. The class 8 student of the government school, whose hair was cut, had a haircut after Vijaya allegedly told him so. However, on seeing some uncut hair on the front side of his head, the teacher made his classmate cut his hair. The student’s father filed a complaint with Koradacheri police. While the police arrested the teacher under children welfare act, district collector Nirmal Raj ordered her suspension.
