TAMIL NADU NEW EB CONNECTION CHARGE TO INCREASE?

The charge for getting new connection is expected to be hiked in a few days, reports Puthiya Thalaimurai.
Last week, Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Authority (ADC) State consultative meeting was held in Chennai. Following which, customers with single phase tariff for single kilowatt will have to pay a security charge between Rs 200 and Rs 1000.
Those with three phase will have to pay from Rs 600 to Rs 1800 per kilowatt. The application fees for a new connection will increase from Rs 50 to Rs 400.
For commercial use, the charge of per kilowatt will increase from Rs 500 to Rs 2000. If there is a malfunction, line men will not charge any money earlier. But now electrical workers may charge between Rs 580 to Rs 1920. For three phase, it could go up to Rs 3810.
