At the recently held National Basava Krushi Award function, K.Pandiarajan, Minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil culture presented the award to agriculture scientist M.S Swaminathan for his contributions to farming. K.Pandiarajan was quoted as saying, “Tamil Nadu honoured Swaminathan last month with the Erairgnar award for his immense contribution and now this award is from Karnataka. The Tamil Nadu government strongly endorses Bharat Ratna for Swaminathan for his work for the community."
