According to reports, at least seven people were killed after a car they were travelling hit a tree on the Chennai - Trichy national highway. One woman suffered serious injuries and she has been admitted to Perambalur government hospital. The accident happened near Ramanatham next to Thittakudi when the eight people were travelling from Chennai to Pathanamthitta in Kerala to attend a wedding. Police have reportedly filed a case and are investigating the matter.
