Four students drowned and died in a pond near Mettur camp in Salem on Sunday. Manikandan (17), Raja (11), Tamil Azhagan (8) and Mohanraj (7) left homes in the morning but did not return. Shocked as they did not return, the parents searched everywhere in vain. Shockingly, they found the dead bodies of three boys floating in the pond on Monday morning. Later, one more body was recovered. Reports suggest that they drowned in the pond as they didn’t know swimming.
