At least 1,000 passengers have reportedly travelled for free in a train from Rameswaram to Madurai on Wednesday as the railway official who was responsible to sell tickets was absent for work. A large number of passengers who were waiting at the ticket counter travelled to their destinations without tickets, say reports. The railway official took leave without informing the concerned authorities as he was unwell, reports added.
