The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the Cauvery water row hearing on May 16. It requested time to examine the draft plan of the Cauvery Management Board submitted by the Centre. Here is what happened at the hearing today:
The TN government requested the SC to have the body officially named 'Cauvery Management Board' to which the Centre and the Karnataka State government agreed.
Without the permission of the Board, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu cannot build any dams. Cauvery Management Board alone has the final say in Cauvery related issues. The central government should not involve in these issues.
After Karnataka requested to adjourn the hearing, the Supreme Court scheduled to hear the matter tomorrow (May 17).
