The parts of Southern Tamil Nadu and Northern Tamil Nadu are likely to receive light rainfall for the next 24 as per the report by Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Director Balachandran.
According to Polimer report, while addressing the press in Chennai Balachandran said, the depression caused in the region of SouthWest Bay of Bengal will move towards Kanniyakumari region and become stronger.
Further, it will move towards South-East Arabic sea and Lakshadweep region and become stronger. Therefore districts such as Kanniyakumari, Tuticorin, Pudukottai, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Villupuram and delta districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
Yet another report from News 18 quoting Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reads the following weather forecast
There are chances of new depression over the regions of South-East Arabic Sea and Lakshadweep. The formation of “Super Storm Kayar” in Central Arabic Sea moves at the speed of 16 Km/hr towards Northwest.
The storm will move towards Oman in the next 5 days and lose its intensity. Therefore Heavy to very heavy rainfall could be expected for the next 4 days in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondicherry and Karaikal.
