Amid the growing outrage in Tamil Nadu over H Raja’s Facebook status, a statue of Periyar has reportedly been vandalised in Thirupattur, following which two people were arrested. Police force is said to be beefed up at the spot. H Raja, in a social media post, referred to the demolition of a Lenin statue in Tripura and said a similar fate awaited Periyar statues in Tamil Nadu. However, the Facebook comment was deleted later.
