DMK working president MK Stalin on Saturday warned Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit of intensive protests if the latter continues to act in a way that affects that state autonomy. The Governor’s dream of controlling the state through backdoor entry will never succeed, Stalin said.
Alleging that the Governor is using the ruling AIADMK government to enforce an authoritarian rule, the opposition leader added that any attempt to oppress the democratic protests against the government will not succeed.
Stalin further stated that the DMK will continue its protests if the Governor continues his visits to districts in the state. Earlier, Stalin, along with party MLAs and cadres, was arrested after they held a protest near Raj Bhavan seeking the Governor’s resignation accusing him of interfering in the state administration.
