According to a statement made by Gangadharan, Assistant Director of Fisheries Department, 10 fishermen from Nagapattinam district were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on the charges of poaching fish near Neduntheevu in Sri Lankan waters.
According to reports ,the fishermen along with their trawler were taken to Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka.
The Paruthithurai Court in Sri Lanka has remanded them to judicial custody till November 30.
Earlier , on November 7 , four fishermen from Pudukottai were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing in the waters near Neduntheevu.
