The Tamil Nadu government has shifted the Sivaji Ganesan’s statue from Marina to a memorial hall in the midnight on Thursday. This comes after Madras High Court in January asked to remove the statue due to repeated complaints about traffic. However, many political parties PMK, Naam Tamilar Katchi, Tamil Nadu Congress has reportedly criticised the move. Notably, The statue was set up at Marina on July 12, 2006, during DMK rule.
