According to media reports published by News 7 and Zee News, his son SP Charan announced in a statement on Monday that his father was earlier on ventilator support in the ICU but he has successfully recovered. "Thanks for your continuous support and prayers for my father. My father is fine and stable, and his coronavirus test has become negative... Will keep you posted about the updates," read SP Charan's statement.
SP Balasubrahmanyam is currently admitted to MGM Healthcare, Chennai. He tested positive for the novel coronavirus on August 5. The veteran singer was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after he was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. His health condition deteriorated while he was undertaking the treatment. Initially he only had mild symptoms but his condition deteriorated later. The news about his health condition shocked celebrities and fans alike. Many of them organized prayer sessions and meetings to pray for his recovery.
After being hospitalized, the singer had shared a video on his social media accounts wherein he confirmed the diagnosis and stated that he had mild symptoms. He however assured his friends and fans that he was in good health and insisted fans not to worry.
SPB's son SP Charan has made a clarfication regarding the issue. He told Polimer TV and other media houses that he never released a statement announcing that his father's health condition has improved.
