BJP national secretary H Raja on Tuesday wrote in Facebook, referring to vandalism of Lenin’s statue in Tripura, that Periyar statue in Tamil Nadu will also be brought down similarly. However, he later deleted the post. Meanwhile, the political leaders in Tamil Nadu have strongly warned against such a comment. Speaking about H Raja’s remarks, Naam Tamilar Katchi chief Seeman said, “He is doing it as he wants publicity. That (bringing down Periyar’s statue) cannot happen even in a dream,” and warned, “Let them touch the statue and see what happens next.”
