The government school in Rameshwaram where former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam studied has been unable to pay its electricity bills for the past two years. Due to this reason, the school's power connection was disconnected.
Reportedly, the school has classes from I to XII and more than 200 students study there. Since the bills were not paid, electricity board members visited the school on Thursday and disconnected the power. Due to the power cut, students had to suffer.
