According to reports, a private school in Palakarai area of Trichy punished the students who celebrated Diwali and presented appreciation letters to those who did not celebrate Diwali. Further, a student, who was wearing henna on her hands, was reportedly beaten. Parents gathered in front of the school and agitated, say reports. The school administration reportedly said it followed the instructions of pollution control board to control air and noise pollution. Meanwhile, a case has reportedly been filed against the headmaster and the physical education teacher. The state school education department conducted an inquiry and a report will be sent to higher officials, officials reportedly said.
