The State Bank of India is reportedly considering reducing the minimum balance requirement for SBI savings account. Following reports that the bank collected Rs 11,772 crore in fees by imposing a penalty for non-maintenance of minimum balance between April and November 2017, the government is now considering bringing down the minimum balance from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,000.
