Sasikala’s lawyer Pandian had sad last week that they are not ready to pay any fine amount. This response came weeks after the Income Tax department sealed around 60 properties which were owned by Sasikala and her benamis.
Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will take place in the first half of 2021 and Sasikala’s release and her physical presence might be a major political event in politics. She was elected as the legislature party leader but her colleague, O Panneerselvam had rebelled against her but before her jailing, she got Edappadi K Palaniswamy to be the leader. He was then eventually the Chief Minister.
