Angamuthu, Director of Physical Education at Salem Periyar University has reportedly committed suicide. He was recently under investigation for several charges of fraud. Reports claim the university professors had already filed a case against him when Angamuthu had decided to contest for the vice-chancellor post. The conflict that arose from this allegedly caused him to attempt to take his own life by consuming poison in his house in Perunthurai. He passed away while he was being taken to the hospital.
