19-YEAR-OLD DIES AFTER FAILED ABORTION

A 19-year-old student from Omalur in the district of Salem, died after a failed abortion. Allegedly, the girl became pregnant because of her lover from school and was scared to inform her parents. The girl reportedly went to Sultana, a quack on March 28 to get herself aborted.

The girl was given abortion pills by the quack and sent home. Allegedly, the girl suffered from stomachache and was taken to a private hospital by her parents. However, despite treatment, she died on March 31. Sultana was later arrested by the police.
