GUIDELINES FOR TRAVELLING 'TO AND FROM' CHENNAI DURING NEW COMPLETE LOCKDOWN! DETAILS LISTED
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduThe Tamil Nadu government on Monday declared that complete lockdown will be imposed in Chennai and parts of Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts from June 19 to June 30.
Travelling to or travelling out of Chennai is raising concerns once again due to the announcement of complete lockdown. The ruling government in its latest order has stated that e-pass will be provided to those people requesting to travel out of Chennai (inter and intra- district) only for emergencies and unavoidable events, which includes weddings, deaths and medical emergencies.
On May 25 flight services resumed from Tamil Nadu to other states. The Chennai Airport confirm that this new lockdown will not disrupt flight operations.

However, for those coming to these districts through air, trains or ships, the norms that were in place earlier will be applicable. All passengers will be tested for COVID19, quarantines in government- run institutions till their results come out. If the tests turn out to be positive, they will be shifted to the hospital otherwise they will be under home- quarantine for 14 days. Those coming from Hotspot states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi will be under institutional quarantine for 7 days.
Government’s decision to impose a complete lockdown was taken due to the surge in number of COVID19 cases in the state and especially in the four aforementioned districts of Tamil Nadu.
