MTC conductors never seem to have change, even though they are supposed to get change from the MTC cashiers every morning before starting their duties. According to Times of India, the MTC cashiers earn a good amount of profit every day by exchanging the change with employees and owners of restaurants and other shops for a minimum gain of 3%. They are receiving at least Rs 30 for every Rs 1000 and this value adds up to lakhs every day. This results in conductors starting their duties without any change.
