Meeting the press outside his house on April 23 before leaving for the USA, actor-politician Rajinikanth talked about the current happenings in the state. When asked about his opinion on the Nirmala Devi case, he replied, "It is a very shameful issue. The investigations are currently going on. If she is proved guilty, a strict punishment should be given to her." However, he refused to talk when asked about how the Governor's name was also involved.
Rajinikanth assured that he will definitely be staring a party, but he is not sure of the date.
