After much criticism, Rajinikanth apologized for the disturbance caused by the erections of banners of him on the roads. Rajinikanth unveiled former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran's statue at the Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai on Monday. While addressing the students there, Rajinikanth apologized and reportedly said that he felt that they had gone against the Madras High Court's order of not putting up banners that disturbs citizens.
