PRISONERS CLASH IN COIMBATORE CENTRAL JAIL, ONE DEAD

According to reports, a prisoner was killed by another in Coimbatore central jail following an argument between the two on Tuesday at around 11 am. Ramesh, 46, was attacked with a stone and was rushed to Coimbatore government hospital for treatment. However, he reportedly succumbed to injuries on the way.
Reportedly, 19-year-old Vijay from Perur and Ramesh from Peelamedu were lodged in the same cell. Police ruled out any prior enmity between the two. Ramesh’s body is kept at the government hospital for post-mortem. Racecourse police are investigating the matter.
