CHENNAI: PRIEST HELD FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING 4-YEAR-OLD IN TEMPLE

A 40-year-old temple priest on Sunday was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on the charge of sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl inside a temple at Choolaimedu. According to reports, the child, who was at a relative's house to spend her holidays, used to play in the streets when the priest, V Udhayakumar took her inside the temple and touched her inappropriately.

The parents of the child were shocked when she casually told them during a conversation how Udhayakumar used to touch her inappropriately.

The parents, after asking for more details from the girl, went to the temple and questioned the accused. They later filed a complaint in Choolaimedu police station after manhandling the priest.
