Police stop Rama Rajya Rath Yathra in Rameswaram

According to reports, the Rama Rajya Rath Yatra vehicle was stopped by the police in Rameswaram on Thursday for taking an alternative route rather than the permitted one. Police have reportedly said that the particular route, the Yatra group had chosen, would probably create communal tensions. They advised the group to take the route via Sayalkudi and Vembar. Reports suggest that the vehicle resumed its journey on the route suggested by the police.
