POLICE JUMP WALLS TO ESCAPE FROM STONE PELTING IN THOOTHUKUDI PROTEST

After reaching the 100th day, the protest against the expansion of Vedanta Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi on Tuesday has become the talk of the town. People attempted to lay siege to the district collectorate and pelted stones at police officials.
However, police launched a lathi-charge on the protesters and used tear gas when they attempted the siege. Enraged protesters started pelting stones at the police personnel and police vehicles. In photos that were shared on social media, police can be seen jumping off walls to escape from stone pelting.
