After almost 23 men and six bulls were killed during the recent Jallikattu events, The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has sent a letter to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy seeking a ban on Jallikattu. PETA on Wednesday sent a letter stating that disregard for animals has been rising after allowing Jallikattu last year. “A number of human beings as well as bulls have died. How many more humans and bulls have to die before action is taken to stop jallikattu," asked the head of PETA public policy, Nikunj Sharma.
