AG Perarivalan, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, has reportedly asked the Supreme Court to reopen the case and cancel the conviction. Perarivalan has spent close to 26 years in jail after he was convicted of supplying two nine-volt batteries for the belt-bomb that killed the former Prime Minister in 1991.
