THERMOCOL PROTEST AGAINST SELLUR RAJU

People of Alangudi protested on Saturday against AIADMK leader Sellur Raju and demanded that he should immediately resign from his position. Many even protested by letting thermocol sheets in a nearby pond.

Sellur Raju on Thursday commented on Rajinikanth's political future and said, "Rajini cannot capture Tamil Nadu politics. He can only capture Karaikudi Aachi." His comment hurt the sentiments of many from the Chettiar caste as Aachi is used to refer to married women.

However, the politician in an interview with Puthiya Thalaimurai on Friday clarified that his comment was interpreted wrongly. He said, "I did not refer to the Aachis of Karaikudi. I made a joke about Manorama Aachi who used to act with Rajini."
