Reportedly, a 45-year-old panchayat clerk in Kanchipuram has forged signatures and defrauded Rs 39 lakhs in his bank account. The high officials of Panchayat had registered a complaint on Monday after detecting the scam. According to media reports, the man has also forged bills of public reports, and the police have seized his accounts completely. During the investigation, the man admitted that he had been cheating the panchayat officials for almost a year.
