According to reports, 15 villages have been cut off since the Palar river is flooded and the bridge near Ambur in Vellore district is submerged in the flood water which is running over 4 ft. The river is flooded due to the heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh. Since the Nariyampattu bridge is under flood water, nearby villages including Azhinjikuppam, Rajakkal, MVKuppam and Reddy Manguppam are cut off for transportation. The revenue officials have reportedly warned the people not to visit the area since the flood inflow is expected to rise.
