In an attempt to tackle situations during disasters, Tamil Nadu government has reportedly set up an exclusive Disaster Response Force with headquarters in Chennai. According to TOI, the Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force will have 1,000 members in its unit and the model will be similar to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Reportedly, the exclusive unit will get trained by personnel from the NDRF.
