Chief Justice of Madras High Court Indira Banerjee on Wednesday reportedly ordered that jail term is not necessary for motorists who forget to bring original driving licence. Stating that forgetting to bring original driving licence cannot be considered a crime, she reportedly said imposing a fine on them is enough. However, the Chief Justice reportedly added that motorists who do not own an original driving licence can be sentenced to 3-month jail term.
